Annie Mutamba
EU-Africa PR & Strategic Comms Consultant, co-founder of Meridia Partners (Belgium)
Annie Mutamba is the co-founder of Meridia Partners, the first Brussels-based strategic communications consultancy specializing in Europe-Africa relations. She advises businesses and organisations in their interactions with European and international institutions.
She started her career in Washington D.C. at the Africa Policy Information Center (now Africa Action), the oldest organisation in the United States dedicated to African affairs. She then managed, for ten years, large-scale advocacy and communication programs within the European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic), which represents 27,000 companies across Europe. Advisor to this sector’s large multinationals as well as SMEs, her role was to develop and implement communication strategies influencing European policies in innovation, health and environment. She was also in charge of coordinating communication with the WHO, the UNEP and the OECD.
She now lectures within the Executive Master in Communication and European Policies at IHECS in Brussels.
Annie Mutamba holds two master’s degrees, in communication and in international relations, from the University of Liege in Belgium and the University of Bradford in the UK.
She is a regular guest of international commissions on influence communication and lobbying. In 2016 she joined the African Center of Competitive Intelligence (ACCI) as chair of the lobbying commission.
