Prof. Dr. Bernd-Helmut Kroeplin

Founder of TAO-Group and CEO of TAO Neue Antriebstechnologien GmbH

Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Bernd-Helmut Kröplin is the founder of TAO-Group and CEO of TAO Neue Antriebstechnologien GmbH in Germany. 

From 1988 to 2010 he was Professor and head of institute of the Institute for Statics and Dynamics of Aerospace Structures (ISD) at University Stuttgart. He and his team designed and built the first solar-powered airship "LOTTE".

In 1999 he got the Körber Award for European Sciences for the development of the High Altitude Platform for Telecommunication, the "SkyDragon" for Stratospheric Flight.

In 1999 he developed the Design- and Feasibility Study for the largest free span hall of the world (900 m).

He and his German team developed new regenerative energy storage concepts for stationary and mobile applications and new architectural concepts.
